Location: Fireweed Farm
Plant medicine in its various forms has been widely used for millennia, around the world, even dating back to the Paleolithic Era. Humans and plants are intrinsically linked, and by studying herbs and learning how they may be used, we gain great insight into our own health and wellbeing, as well as that of the earth.
Harmony will be discussing the philosophy of holistic herbalism and the practice of working with plants through immersion and tactile experience. We will be looking at how the use of herbs for maintaining health and wellbeing can be integrated into your home practice; sampling herbal preparations that can be included in the home apothecary, as well as heading out on a herb walk to identify and meet some medicinal plants in the garden.
This workshop is designed as a beginner’s class for those new to using herbs and curious about herbal medicine, or those looking to expand their knowledge of holistic health practices. Participants will leave with an understanding of the beneficial uses of commonly found garden herbs and other wild plants, will gain insight on holistic health practices and leave with some hands on experience harvesting and crafting their own medicine.
