WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Join Emma in the beautiful geodesic dome and be guided in song. Each week we will learn a new song by rote, and work on harmony and vocal technique in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Everyone can sing. This is a phrase we all hear but often don't believe because we connect 'sing' to 'sound like a professional'. We all have a voice, and regardless of what it sounds like to others, the experience of singing can be healing, cathartic and a beautiful way to strengthen a deeper connection to ourselves. Through singing we can access an embodied awareness of our physical, emotional and spiritual patterns, as well as our strengths and traumas. As we become aware of these stories in our bodies, we can invite them to move through us and be released through the exploration and exhalation of breath, sound, and song. I believe the voice is a unique medium that can enrich and facilitate our growth both as individuals and as a part of a community.

No experience necessary and all ages and abilities are welcome!

about your instructor

Emma Postl calls upon experience gained through a degree in jazz voice and her continued practical study of vocal techniques and methodologies. In her teaching practice, she uses embodiment, breath, and movement as the foundation for vocal expression and freedom. Emma’s personal exploration of singing as a healing practice is deeply informed by her study of plant medicine and the practice of meditation.
