Herbal syrups are yummy, medicinally potent, alcohol-free extracts. Making a syrup is a great way to preserve a mineral rich herbal infusion or decoction, and a great alternative to alcohol based extracts such as a tincture. A properly prepared herbal syrup can last for many years without refrigeration.
During this workshop we will be preparing an all-natural alcohol-free Iron Rich Syrup with a honey base. The Iron Rich Syrup is great for maintaining iron levels and also acts as a gentle liver tonic. The syrup will be featuring freshly harvested herbs from the Fireweed gardens. Recipes will also be given for other syrups such as Elderberry Syrup, and a Herbal Cough Syrup.
